QS World University Rankings: One of the top 50 institutions by the subject of 5 IITs, ISM Dhanbad shines; Czech details | Mint

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), including the Indian School of Mines at the Indian School of Bombay, Madras, Kharagpur and Dhanabad, has depicted the topic of the top 50 institutions in the QS World University rankings till 2025.

Ism dhanbadThe status of an IIT has been awarded the highest rank for an Indian institution in the table. The institute has achieved rank 20 globally in Engineering (Mineral and Mining) Division. This is an improvement from last year’s rank 41.

IIT Delhi and BombayWhich shared the 45th rank for engineering and technology last year, has improved its position to bag 26th and 28th respectively.

However, in the engineering-mineral and mining divisions, IIT Bombay saw a decline in its rank in 28th place. IIT Kharagpur has also seen a decline in its rank, securing 45th position.

IIT Delhi and Bombay have also improved their rank for engineering-electrical and electronic to enter the top 50 list.

While the IIT is in the top 50 list for Madras Petroleum Engineering, its rank fell from 16 to 31 this year.

QS Rankings: 79 Indian Institute, 12 in Top 50

According to the 15th edition of the World University rankings by the subject, on Wednesday, London -in -law was declared by Quacwearry Symonds (QS), India celebrates 12 top -50 posts in subject rankings and comprehensive faculty areas earned by nine institutions.

“A total of 79 Indian universities – 10 more than the previous year – this year’s ranking is 533 times, which marks a 25.7 percent increase compared to the previous version. This includes 454 entries in individual subjects and 79 appearances in five wide faculty areas, ”QS said in a statement.

In QS theme-specific ranking 2025The fifth most new entries behind China, America, UK and Korea are ranked 12th for the number of overall entries in India.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad and Bangalore lived between one of the top 50 in the world for trade and management studies but their ranking has fallen from the previous year. While IIM Ahmedabad’s ranking fell from 22 to 22, IIM Bangalore slipped from 32 to 40. JNU also saw a decline in its ranking since 20 last year.
