Sunita Williams return to Earth: NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore have now been ‘stuck’ in space for almost nine months.
SpaceX and NASA planned to launch a replacement team of four astronauts from Florida on Wednesday, March 12, a mission called a mission crew -10, which helps to bring back Sunita Williams and Buch Willmore. However, a final-minute issue with the ground system of the rocket delayed the mission more.
When will Sunita Williams then return to Earth? Why is the crew 10 so important for NASA astronauts? When will the crew pick up 10? What do we know here?
What is the crew 10? Why is this important?
Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor’s space campaign, which was for eight days, expanded for nine months after the technical issues with the Starlineer spacecraft of Boeing.
Crew -10 is considered to change the crew -9 team which is part of Sunita Williams. Crew -9 cannot return from space until the crew reaches 10 International Space Station (ISS) and handles the mission.
Crew 10, as the name suggests, is the tenth science rotation mission of Spacex for ISS.
When will the crew 10 lift-off?
According to NASA, Crew 10 is now slate for a liftoff on ET Friday (March 14) at 7:03 pm, which is IST, Saturday (March 15) at around 4 pm.
Draw team 10 astronauts are?
Crew 10 Mission has the following astronauts, who live in ISS for about six months and will work:
- NASA astronaut Anne McClen, Mission Commander;
2. NASA Astronaut Nicole Airte, Mission Pilot;
3. Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (Jaxa), Japanese astronaut of a mission specialist Takua Onici;
4. Roskosmos cosmonot Kiril Peskov, a mission specialist
When will Sunita Williams return to Earth?
If the crew team -10 is launched on March 14 as per the plan, it will do the ISS on Saturday (March 15) at 11:30 pm, which is on Sunday (March 16) at 9 am.
Docking will be followed by a traditional handover function that will allow for the departure of Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor on Wednesday, 19 March. Reuters.
Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor were expected to return to Earth on the first Sunday, March 16.
