New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan became a star with films like ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Deewar’. His image of ‘Angry Young Man’ had become ingrained in the hearts of the audience, while on the other hand Rajesh Khanna was a superstar whose films were becoming superhits just by his presence. But in 1980, Rajesh Khanna’s career started declining, while Amitabh Bachchan became famous film after film. During this time, Amitabh’s film ‘Laawaris’ was released, whose song ‘Mere Angne Mein’ became very popular, but Rajesh Khanna could not accept the song.
