The placement season in IIT Delhi is not even halfway and the institute has already started acquiring milestones. Graduate students in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have received more than 850 unique job proposals so far in the ongoing placement season, marking the highest number in the last three years.
According to a statement issued by IIT Delhi, the figure has crossed over previous years – 781 offers in 2024, 768 in 2023 and 712 offers in 2022. Still running with the placement season, the number of proposals is expected to increase further in the coming weeks.
Google, IIT Microsoft in top recruitments in Delhi
The top recruitments of this year included prominent firms such as American Express, Barclays, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bluestone, Dutash India, Google, Graviton Research Capital, Mesho, Microsoft, Oracle, Payu, SquarePoint Capital and Texas Instruments.
Public sector undertakings (PSU) have also shown strong participation, in which the center for the recruitment of telematics for the recruitment of Graduated students from Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum, Petronet LNG, Indian Oil Corporation and Institute.
In addition, more than 40 international proposals were extended to UG students by top companies in countries such as Japan, Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, UAE, UK and America.
About 30% of graduates dug campus placements in 2024
A exit survey conducted by IIT Delhi has shown that about 30% of graduates from 2024 batch chose an alternative career path outside the campus placement. These included 7% venture in entrepreneurship or startup, selection of 6% for higher education, and 17% preparation for competitive examinations such as civil or engineering services. A similar trend is estimated between 2025 graduate classes.
