According to a report by the World Economic Forum, automation could eliminate 75 million jobs by 2025, but create 133 million new jobs, many of which will require AI and machine learning skills. The same report states that AI and machine learning will create 97 million new jobs by 2025, most of them in the tech industry.

Generative AI is a rapidly growing field with a wide range of career opportunities across a variety of industries, including tech, healthcare, entertainment, and finance. Roles such as AI research scientist, machine learning engineer, and creative AI developer are in high demand. Generative AI is not just for those with a technical background. It has applications in creative fields such as art, music, and writing, making it an exciting field for arts majors to explore.

GenAI excels at crafting product descriptions, social media content, and personalized marketing for diverse audiences. Generative AI helps writers overcome barriers, suggests creative text structures, and translates languages. With regard to visuals, AI can create vibrant images from scratch based on descriptions or creatively modify existing images. Examples include DALL-E 2, Leonardo, and Midjourney. In music, generative AI such as Mubert, Soundful, and Aiwa can create original pieces in various genres, inspire composers, and enhance media soundtracks.
