Kuldevi then suggested to the king that he should call the children of the village on Chaitra Ashtami and offer them to the flowers of Fyoli and Buransh. Doing this will bring happiness in the house. From then on the tradition of celebrating Phuldei festival started.

Professor Tiwari says that during Phuldei, children sing songs from house to house in groups and spread flowers.
