Taking to his social media handle, Nitin Kamath had tweeted, “About 6 weeks ago, I suddenly had a mild stroke. Dad’s demise, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overwork – any of these could be possible causes. I have got heavy wrinkles on my face and am not able to read or write, now stooped a bit, but able to read and write more. From being absent-minded to being more present-minded. So, 3 to 6 months for complete recovery. I wondered why a person who is fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you have to know when to shift gears down a bit. A little broken, but still counting my treadmill.”

In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Pankaj Aggarwal, senior consultant neurologist and head of the department of neurology at Global Hospitals in Parel Mumbai, shared, “Stroke preparedness is an important aspect of public health, which is important in recognizing early symptoms and taking preventive measures. He revealed, “Other possible symptoms of stroke include sudden confusion, severe headache and difficulty walking. Early detection is important, as prompt medical care can greatly improve outcomes. In the event of a suspected stroke, it is paramount to take immediate action. Calling emergency services ensures quick transportation to a medical facility equipped to handle stroke cases. Emergency medical teams can initiate appropriate interventions depending on the type of stroke, such as giving clot-busting medications or performing procedures to remove the clot.
