Firozabad: To control pollution caused by vehicles, governments are making new rules and laws to ban the use of old vehicles. However, to provide relief to the people, the government is also giving some benefits on scrapping old vehicles. Scrap centers are also being opened in many districts of UP so that people can easily get their vehicles scrapped. Under this, the first vehicle scrap center of the district has been started in a village in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. With the help of administration and industry department, old vehicles will be chopped and sent to scrap i.e. junk. With this, old vehicles will gradually go into scrap and there will be no pollution caused by them.

15 year old vehicles will be put into scrap
Firozabad Industries Deputy Commissioner Dushyant Kumar told Local 18 that the ARTO office has banned driving vehicles older than 15 years. A ban was imposed but there was no system for cutting up old vehicles or scrapping them. In view of this, the initiative to build a vehicle scrapping center in Narkhi was started by Firozabad Industries Department and an MoU was signed with UP Global Investors in February 2023. Here, MoUs worth Rs 15 crore were signed for different scrapping centres. Now the first vehicle scrap center is ready in Baratara Road of Narkhi village. It has cost more than Rs 5 crore to prepare it. Trial of the machines installed in it has also been done. This will help a lot in dismantling old vehicles. Firozabad Vehicle Scrapping Center firm has also signed an MoU to set up a center worth Rs 10 crore in Lalau.

Vehicles will be sold at the rate of Rs 22.50 per kg
At the vehicle scrap center established near Narkhi village of Firozabad, all the old vehicles will be scrapped by machines and the vehicle owner will also get the price for it. At this scrap center, vehicles will be scrapped or rather cut at the rate of Rs 22.50 per kg. Its amount will be sent to the account of the concerned vehicle owner. The vehicle owner will also get tax exemption on purchasing a new vehicle after getting the vehicle scrapped at this scrap centre.
