New Delhi. The trend of electric vehicles is rapidly gaining momentum in the country and the world. Meanwhile, German automobile manufacturer BMW, known for its expensive and high-tech feature vehicles, has introduced its BMW X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) electric vehicle in India. Actually, the company has launched this vehicle in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the starting price of which is Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom). This is BMW’s first fully electric car which has been made right here in India.

This car claims to be the longest car in this category. The X1 LWB Electric can travel up to 531 km (MIDC-certified) on a single charge. With a length of 4,616 mm and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, this SUV has been designed to offer a comfortable driving experience on any type of road.
You are getting a sharp front-end look in this SUV, which comes with adaptive LED headlamps with cornering functionality and BMW High Beam Assistant. The profile is accentuated by aluminum satinated roof rails and a well managed roofline. It has square wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels. While at the rear there is a sculpted diffuser and LED taillamps.
How is the interior?
Inside, the BMW X1 LWB is very spacious. The cabin has been designed with a beige headliner and two-tone aesthetics. That means you will not feel suffocated inside. It will look quite airy. The widescreen curved display infotainment system and the driver’s instrument cluster have been placed in such a way that you will feel very managed.
The driver will benefit from the M Sport steering wheel. Both the front seats are electrically adjustable. Reclining seats adjustable up to 28.5 degrees have been provided at the rear. Apart from this, there is also a panoramic sunroof, which is said to be the largest in this segment.
How is its performance?
Powering the X1 LWB Electric is a 66.4 kWh battery pack, paired with a single electric motor on the front axle. This setup delivers 204 bhp and 250 Nm of torque through a single-speed gearbox. The SUV also supports one-pedal driving and has adaptive energy recuperation technology.
