Jaipur. There is good news for train passengers. Railway passengers will be able to book platform and general tickets on the go using their mobile phones. Earlier, tickets could be booked only at a distance of at least 20 meters from the railway line. Railways has come up with UTS app which is becoming increasingly popular among the public.
At major stations, commercial department employees are providing information about the UTS app to passengers so that passengers can easily book tickets. To make the process of the UTS app easier, changes have been made in the rules by the Railway Board.
Get your ticket by standing on the platform
According to the new change, now passengers can make general tickets or platform tickets through the UTS app while standing on the platform of the railway station. Earlier, tickets could be made only from a distance of at least 20 meters from the railway line.
Crores of profits from UTS app
UTS On Mobile App facility is available for online unreserved rail ticket booking at all stations of Jaipur division. Commercial Manager Krishna Kumar Meena said that UTS On Mobile App for booking tickets has started becoming popular among rail passengers. Many passengers are using this mobile app. The app has led to a significant increase in unreserved rail ticket sales.
27 lakh passengers used the app
More than 26 lakh 86 thousand passengers booked unreserved tickets through UTS on Mobile App from 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2024 in Jaipur division. This generated an income of Rs 5 crore 26 lakh 84 thousand for the Railways.
Ticket will be visible even if the mobile is offline
You can book both types of tickets like unreserved tickets, season tickets, season ticket renewal, paper tickets and paperless tickets through UTS app. You can also check the details of booked tickets. According to railways, your mobile will be your ticket. Tickets will be visible even when the mobile is in offline mode.
