Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Options: Whenever there is talk of a 7-seater family car, the first name that comes to mind is Maruti Ertiga. This car has remained the 7 seater MPV segment market leader for the last many years. Ertiga is popular among both private and commercial buyers. If we look at its sales, 14,632 units of Ertiga have been sold in January 2024.

However, a new car has now entered to challenge Maruti Ertiga in its own turf. Actually, French car manufacturer Citroen is selling its 7-seater SUV C3 Aircross in India. It has been brought in direct competition with Maruti Ertiga in the Indian market. However, it also competes with Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Rumion and the recently launched Honda Elevate.

What is special in C3 Aircross?
Talking about Citroen C3 Aircross, it has been launched at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 9.99 lakh. The price of its top variant goes up to Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has launched it in three trims U, Plus and Max. This SUV comes in 5 and 7-seater configuration. The third row seats can be removed in the 7-seater configuration.

Engine and Specifications
In C3 Aircross, the company has given 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine generates power of 110 bhp and torque of 190 Nm. This SUV was earlier launched only in manual transmission but now the company has also launched its automatic (AMT) version. The company has claimed that this engine is fuel efficient which can easily get a mileage of 18.5 kilometers.

The features are also great
If we talk about the features, the Citroen C3 Aircross has some special features like 10.2-inch infotainment system and 7-inch digital driver display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also has steering-mounted audio controls and manual AC. In terms of safety, it also has features like dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, rear parking sensor, reverse camera and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

What will be able to replace Ertiga?
In terms of engine and performance, Citroen C3 Aircross is ahead of Ertiga, but the company has not provided some important features in its base trim, which are available in Ertiga in comparison. The base variant of C3 Aircross comes with You 5-seat configuration. Roof AC vents are available only in the 7-seat variant. The base-spec model has almost all the safety features of the top-spec Max trim. However, it does not have a 10.2-inch touchscreen, speaker, reverse camera, rear wiper, rear defogger and USB charger. If we ignore these shortcomings then C3 Aircross can really compete with Ertiga.
