Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has chosen the wrong time to launch ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, quoting famous political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor and criticizing his advisors, saying, ‘This is the worst time to leave Delhi headquarters’ Was.’
talking to India Today, he said, “Look who is advising them. This may be the worst time for you to leave headquarters and go on a trip.”
Kishor cited that the trip should have been organized six months to a year before the elections, and he stressed the need to finalize strategic allies, candidates and focus on campaign strategy.
“When you are needed at headquarters, you are in the field. When you needed to be in the field, you were sitting in Delhi. I don’t know who advises them,” said Kishore.
On similar lines, Kishore told Indian Express That he does not see any logic in Rahul Gandhi’s visit from Manipur to Mumbai. “At a time when he should be at the center of politics, he is busy traveling in the Northeast. Visiting the regions is fine but leaving the headquarters is definitely not a wise move. I don’t know who is advising him on these issues.”
The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, which started from Manipur on January 14, will travel 6,713 km in 67 days, spread across 110 districts in 15 states and will end in Mumbai on March 20. The dates are very close to the Lok Sabha elections. , which is likely to be held between April and May.
Why is this an important time for the India Alliance?
This statement assumes significance as the Congress is facing criticism from some allies of the Indian faction over the ‘seat-sharing’ deal. In Bihar, Nitish Kumar left the Grand Alliance and formed a new government in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, it also broke ties with the opposition alliance.
Meanwhile, in Bengal, TMC has announced that it will contest the Lok Sabha elections ‘alone’. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she was keen on a seat-sharing arrangement with the Congress, but it joined hands with the CPI(M) to assist the BJP in the elections, forcing it to contest the Lok Sabha elections alone.
