However, the most popular among these is “Horn OK Please” which is seen on the back of all types of trucks, from small to big. This line is so famous that a Bollywood film has also been made on it.

Although according to the rules it is not necessary to write this line on the truck, then why is there such a huge trend of writing this line? Most of you may not know the reason behind this, so today we will tell you what is the reason behind writing Horn OK Please on the back of the truck.

What does it mean?
Although there are many meanings of writing Horn Ok Please on the back of a truck, the most common of these is to warn by blowing the horn before overtaking. Trucks are big and heavy, so it is difficult to turn them immediately. In such a situation, if a vehicle coming from behind has to overtake a truck going ahead, then by blowing the horn to the truck, the driver gets the information that the vehicle coming from behind wants to go ahead and the truck driver lets that vehicle pass.

There are many reasons given for writing OK in “Horn OK Please”. One of the reasons is that there was a huge shortage of diesel during the Second World War. In such a situation, trucks used to run on kerosene and kerosene was also kept in the container at the back which was very flammable. Therefore, to warn the vehicles coming from behind, OK i.e. On Kerosine was written at the back of the truck.

As we mentioned earlier, there are many reasons for writing Horn Ok Please. One of the reasons is that in the olden days, most of the roads used to be narrow and there was very little space for vehicles to overtake each other. Due to this, there was a risk of accidents.

In such a situation, ‘Horn Ok Please’ was written on the back of big trucks and there was also a bulb above ‘Ok’. The truck driver used to light it to signal the vehicle behind him to move ahead. This helped the vehicles behind him in overtaking.
