Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra shared a video clip, showing the lower half of Elon Musk’s Starship rocket skillfully maneuvering next to its launch tower. In the footage, one can see the plane making its historic journey during its fifth test flight as it got stuck in a giant pair of mechanical arms.

Appreciating tech billionaire and SpaceX owner, Elon Musk’s willingness to take great risks, Anand Mahindra asked in a social media post on Musk.”

Describing the astonishing incident in a post, Anand Mahindra wrote, “And this Sunday, I’m happy to be a couch potato, if it means I get to watch history being made. “This experiment may have been the watershed moment when space travel was democratized and made routine.”

The comments come after SpaceX’s Starship rocket on Sunday completed the world’s first move to acquire a reusable and rapidly deployable rocket. SpaceX engineers declared the trip “a day for the history books” after the booster landed safely BBC“Starship rocket booster caught in tower,” the Tesla owner wrote in a post on X.

Deepak Shenoy, founder and CEO of CapitalMind, lauded the milestone in a post on X, saying, “10 years ago, we would have thought they played this video in reverse! What an accomplishment! Crazy.”

Netizens reacted strongly to this major feat in space travel, with one user saying, “The amount of force being balanced here is almost unimaginable. Yet it’s made to look fragile.” Another user commented, “@SpaceX has done more in 10 years than @NASA and all our billions of tax dollars since 1973!” A third user commented. Said, “It is absurd to see the evolution of these rockets from exploding during take off to being caught on return landing.”

This historic achievement comes eighteen months after its inaugural flight in which the aircraft broke into pieces moments after launch. The initial stages of the rocket’s ascent in the fifth test were similar to those of the previous attempt, as the airship and booster were programmed to separate at intervals of two and three-quarters of a minute after launch, the BBC reported.
