What to wear for JEE Main 2024? Check Dress Code, Exam Day Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the second session of the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main 2024 on April 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, 2024 for Paper I (BE/B.Tech) and on April 12, 2024 for Paper I (B.E./B.Tech). Paper 2 (BArch/Planning). Admit cards for the first three days of the exam have been released on jeemain.nta.ac.in.

On the day of the examination, candidates must carry the printout of the admit card, their photographs, valid photo ID card and other documents. Detailed guidelines for the day of examination including dress code are given on the admit card.

JEE Main 2024: Dress code and exam day guidelines

For shoes, candidates should choose slippers or sandals with low heels. Closed shoes including boots should be avoided.

They are advised to wear light clothes with half sleeves like shift tee for clothes. Long sleeves are not allowed. Avoid clothes with big buttons.

Candidates who wear specific attire for religious or customary reasons, which violates the dress code of JEE Main, will have to report early so that proper search can be conducted.

Bring your admit card printed in color and on A4 size paper. Make sure that all details including your photo and signature are visible. If the admit card has multiple pages, take a printout of all the pages.

Do not bring handbags, mobile phones, any kind of communication/electronic devices etc. to the examination centres.

Avoid cap, scarf, sunglasses etc. at the examination venue. These are prohibited items.

Metal items including watches are strictly prohibited. There will be a clock on the examination console so that candidates can keep track of the time.

Candidates can carry JEE Main Admit Card, Photo ID, Photograph (to be pasted on the attendance sheet), PWD Certificate and Scribe Documents (if applicable). Candidates will be provided with a pen and scribble pad. They can also carry water, hand sanitizer etc. Diabetic patients can bring food items as specified on the entry form.
