New Delhi. As India moves towards electrification, major manufacturers are introducing more and more electric vehicles. Leading two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has done a little experiment in its fleet and introduced the world’s first scooter with CNG option. The company has showcased its Jupiter in CNG avatar at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Auto Expo in Delhi. This model is still in concept version and looks almost production ready. The company has not yet given any information related to its launch. However, according to some reports, it may hit the market only this year.
Talking about the design, this model looks attractive from outside and makes a bold style statement. It has a TVS-style headlight setup, which features sleek halogen-integrated DRLs with chrome treatment on either side. It has a single seating arrangement, which provides ample leg room and foot room for a comfortable riding experience.
Power and Range
Talking about the engine, the CNG model has a 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine, which generates maximum power of 7.1 bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 9.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm. To make it more fuel-efficient, the company has included a 1.4 kg CNG tank under the seat. The brand claims that this scooter can give an impressive range of 84 kilometers on 1 kg of CNG, while the combined range (CNG + petrol) is said to be 226 kilometers. Talking about top speed, this scooter can reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
The scooter has been designed with utility in mind, featuring luggage space and hooks. However, the position of the CNG tank may limit some utility. TVS Jupiter CNG is an important step towards eco-friendly transportation options in the Indian market.
