New Delhi. If you are an iPhone user, you must be asking Siri for help at least once a day. This feature of iPhone comes inbuilt in all iPhone handsets. Siri answers all your stupid questions very easily. But now there is an uproar regarding this. Apple has been accused of collecting data of its users through Siri and using it to create marketing profiles. The company is being accused of selling all the data collected through Siri to third parties.
A lawsuit was filed against the company regarding this, in which it was alleged that Apple knowingly recorded private conversations regularly through Siri activation and shared these recordings with third parties including advertisers. After this allegation, Apple agreed to pay 95 million dollars. But he is still denying the allegations. Apple says it does not admit any wrongdoing. Under the terms of the agreement, millions of Apple customers could receive up to $20 for each Siri-enabled device.

According to the company, Siri’s job is to process as much data as possible on users’ devices so that a personalized experience can be provided without revealing any information to Apple servers. According to the company, Siri only collects the minimum information necessary to provide accurate results.
Additionally, Apple stated that it does not save audio recordings of user interactions unless the user specifically consents to sharing them to enhance Siri’s functionality. These recordings are used for this purpose only, even if users decide to share their audio. It further said that the user has control over it. He can opt out at any time.
Let us tell you that this controversy started in the year 2019, when The Guardian made a revelation in which it was said that human contractors reviewed anonymous Siri recordings. During this period he sometimes also received sensitive personal information. Apple subsequently amended its policies, making audio recordings opt-in only and restricting third-party contractors’ access to such recordings.
