Was wearing 1KG underwear, clothes were removed for search, shocking revelation

Airport News: This case pertains to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where two passengers from abroad were caught wearing underwear weighing about one kilogram. Actually, both these passengers had reached IGI Airport by flight XY-329 coming from Riyadh. After reaching IGI Airport, these two passengers took their baggage from the baggage belt and stood in a corner of the terminal.

Both these passengers kept closely watching the activities happening at the exit gate of the terminal for a long time. When these passengers felt that the activities at the exit gate had subsided, both of them started trying to go out of the terminal through the customs green channel. Meanwhile, they did not know that the Custom Air Intelligence Unit had already noticed them and were waiting for them to move towards the exit gate.

Shocking revelation made during search
As soon as these two passengers crossed the green channel of Customs and moved forward, officers of the Air Intelligence Unit surrounded them. On the basis of suspicion, X-ray of their belongings was done and then they were taken to AIU room for search. During the search, when AIU officers picked up his underwear with their hands, they found that its weight was more than one kilogram. This thing was surprising for everyone.

Both arrested with ‘wealth’ worth Rs 68 lakh
According to a senior official associated with IGI Airport, during the search of the underwear, a secret pocket was revealed, inside which three pouches were kept hidden. About 931.37 grams of gold paste was recovered from inside these pouches, whose price in the Indian market is about Rs 68.93 lakh. After this recovery, Customs arrested both the passengers and seized the gold recovered from their possession.
