On Monday, Vikrant Massey shocked his fans when he announced that he will quit films after 2025. Later in the day, he attended the screening of the Sabarmati report in Parliament, and while he was happy to talk about his latest film, he dodged questions on his retirement. Vikrant Massey avoided questions related to retirement

Vikrant attended the screening of his latest film, The Sabarmati Report, at the Balayogi Auditorium of Parliament on Monday evening. This was his first public appearance after announcing his retirement from films. Although he was comfortable talking about watching films with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MPs, he dodged questions about skipping films. When reporters asked him about his Instagram post, which he went without addressing, his co-star Raashi Khanna started talking about the film.

On watching a movie with the PM

Speaking to ANI and the journalists present there, Vikrant described watching the film with the PM as ‘the highest point of his career’. He said, “I watched the film with the Prime Minister, all the cabinet ministers and many MPs. It was a special experience. I still can’t express it completely in words because I am so happy… This is the highest point of my career, that I got a chance to watch my film with the Prime Minister. Rashi also expressed happiness after watching the film in Parliament.

Vikrant will leave films!

Vikrant, who has given critically acclaimed films like 12th Fail, Sector 36 and others, announced his retirement. His post read, “The last few years and the years since have been unprecedented. I thank you all for your unfailing support. But as I move forward, I realize that as a husband, a father, a son and also as an actor, it is time to work again and go back home.

He further added, “So in 2025 we will meet each other for the last time, unless the time feels right. Memories of the last 2 films and many years. Thanks again. For everything and everything in between.” Her Haseen Dilruba co-star Harshvardhan Rane feels that the announcement is a PR move to promote his next film Zero Se Restart.
