Amidst the ongoing debate on long working hours and work-life balance, Parminder Singh – COO of Tatler Asia, a British magazine – recalled how his Indian boss once rejected a “competent” marketing candidate simply because he Because he played guitar and ran marathons, according to reports Moneycontrol.

Singh further said that the candidate was rejected because his hobbies made him unsuitable for the job.

“I couldn’t hire her and I regret it,” he wrote in a separate post.

“This happened several years ago. I was away from India and believed things would have changed, but it seems they haven’t. Before joining British magazine Tatler Asia, Singh worked with Google for more than six years as managing director of Google’s advertising business in Asia Pacific, followed by three years managing X (then Twitter). Worked as a director.

SN Subramaniam’s comments on ’90-hour work week’:
