Only a few cemented ghats in Muni Ki Reti and Lakshman Jhula police station area are safe for bathing. There are chains for bathing here and the ghats are also not too deep. But, apart from these, most of the ghats are dangerous. These ghats are Mastram Baba Ghat, Kirmola Ghat, Naav Ghat, Bombay Ghat, Goa Beach, Garud Chatti, Phool Chatti Ghat in Lakshman Jhula area, while Naav Ghat, Tapovan, Neem Beach, Brahmpuri and Shivpuri in Muni Ki Reti area. Whereas, Rishikesh’s Seventy Two Stairs and Sai Ghat and Haripur area’s Ganga Ghat in Raiwala are places where incidents of drowning of tourists are often reported.
