BJP to discuss J&K, Haryana seats in next CEC today
The next meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Central Election Committee is likely to be held on August 29, in which Jammu and Kashmir as well as Haryana will be discussed.
Earlier on August 25, the first CEC meeting was held under the chairmanship of National President JP Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and other ministers attended it. Members of the core group were also present.

“The members have discussed some names yesterday. On the 29th, we will discuss the remaining seats in Jammu and maximum seats in Kashmir. As per the analysis, we can easily contest 60 seats. However, we are discussing names for all 90 seats. We have good support from local parties like our party and others,” ANI quoted sources as saying.
RIL AGM 2024: Reliance Industries’ 47th AGM will be held virtually today
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), one of India’s largest conglomerates, has announced that its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on August 29, 2024 at 2 pm IST. The company gave this information in a recent statement to the stock exchanges.
RIL confirmed in its market filing, “The Forty-seventh Annual General Meeting (Post-IPO) (“AGM”) of the Members of the Company will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm (IST) through video conferencing (“VC”)/other audio visual means (“OAVM”) in accordance with the applicable circulars issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).”
Kerala government to call all-party meeting to discuss rehabilitation of landslide victims
The Kerala government will call an all-party meeting on August 29 to discuss the rehabilitation of landslide survivors in Wayanad.
A statement issued by the CMO on Sunday said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called for a meeting which will be held online.

Various ministers including Revenue and Housing, Forest and Wildlife, Power, Transport, Finance, Public Works will participate in the meeting along with the Chief Secretary and the concerned Additional Chief Secretaries. PTI Report.
The Kerala government said that the temporary rehabilitation of landslide survivors in Wayanad has been completed, all the families are now living in rented houses. Various ministers and senior officials will attend the upcoming all-party meeting to discuss further steps.
He said that all the 728 families left in the relief camps have been shifted to rented houses.
Mumbai-Goa train to be inaugurated on August 29
The Railway Board has given its approval to run a bi-weekly train from Bandra Terminus station of Western Railway (WR) to Goa and Konkan region of Maharashtra.

As reported PTIHe said that the first operation of the train will be from Borivali, a major station of Western Railway, instead of Bandra Terminus on August 29. Currently, all trains going from Mumbai to Konkan and Goa operate from Central Railway stations.
The launch of the Goa-bound train from Bandra Terminus will benefit tourists from the western suburbs of Mumbai who wish to visit the coastal state, which is a popular holiday destination.
Jammu and Kashmir: Nominations for the second phase of assembly elections begin today
Nominations for the second and third phases of the assembly elections will be filed on August 29 and September 5 respectively.
Additionally, the BJP announced 16 candidates for the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, significantly reducing its original list of 44.

Counting of votes for the elections will take place on October 4.
In the last assembly elections held in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014, when it was a full-fledged state, the BJP had won 25 seats.
