Citing its impact on the rights of the Tamil Nadu state, PG will file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision under Domicile Kota in Medical Admission.

NEET PG Medical Admission: The Tamil Nadu government has announced that it will file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the decision on dominated reservation for postgraduate medical courses. Judicially, a three -judge bench of Hrishikesh Roy, Sudhanshu Dhulia and Swan Bhatti ruled that such reservation violates fundamental rights.
Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister, MA Subramanian said that the state follows the 69% reservation policy, which ensures social justice.
“Reservation in Tamil Nadu is integral to maintain social justice. The implementation of the order will affect the state’s rights, “he told reporters on Thursday.
He said that the ruling Tamil Nadu would affect 50% quota for students. He said that there is a discussion with medical experts, and after discussion, a review petition will be filed in the Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that state PG cannot provide dominated reservation in medical courses and the state quota seats should be filled on merit basis in NEET examination. The bench states, “PG medical courses are a violation of Article 14 of the Constitution.

The court also clarified that there is no such thing as the state’s domicile, saying, “We are all dominated in the field of India. There is nothing like provincial or state domicile. There is only one dominance. We are all residents of India. We have the right to choose a residence anywhere in India and complete trade and profession anywhere in the country. The Constitution also gives us the right to choose admission in educational institutions all over India. ,
Reducing the reservation-based reservation for future PG medical entry, the Supreme Court assured that students who have already received reservation will not be affected. The students came to the ruling after challenging the order of a Punjab and Haryana High Court, which declared reservation for PG Medical Admission.
