Jodhpur. The heritage train has started chugging. It is taking the passengers to two tourist places of Marwar. Jodhpur Railway Division has changed the timing of this heritage train with one coach. But still the people of Jodhpur will not be able to get the benefit of it.
There is good news for people going to Gorm Ghat, a famous tourist destination of Rajasthan. The way Jodhpur Railway Division has changed the timing of the train. Tourists will now be able to leave from Marwar Junction in the morning by heritage train and return in the evening. This heritage train with one engine and one chair car will take you on a tour of Gorm Ghat and Kamli Ghat in one day.
Passengers from Jodhpur will not get this train
The railways have changed the timing of this train a week ago, but tourists returning to Jodhpur will not be able to get this train. They will have to return by bus or other means. Even after the change in timing, when the heritage train reaches Marwar Junction in the evening, the last train to Jodhpur has already left.
This will be the train routine
About 9 months ago, on the lines of the Kalka-Shimla toy train, this heritage train was started with an AC chair car coach with a steam engine-like engine. But its timing was such that it was not getting tourists. Therefore, the railways changed the timing of the heritage train from July 7. This train will leave Marwar Junction at 8:30 am and reach Kamlighat station at 11:30 am. On the return, the train will leave at 2:40 pm and reach Marwar Junction at 5:20 pm. 55-60 passengers will be able to travel in this heritage train at a time. The fare for one person to travel in the train is 2 thousand rupees. This heritage train will run on all days except Tuesday and Friday.
with elephants, horses and palanquins
To give an attractive look to the alternative train, the railways have given the engine the shape of an old steam engine. The single coach of the heritage train has Rajasthani paintings along with elephants, horses and palanquins engraved on it. The air-conditioned heritage train will stop at Goram Ghat, Phulad and Kamlighat stations, but tourists can also stop it mid-way. This train has a 49-seater Vista Dome coach, a staff coach and an engine.
Demand for tourists in Jodhpur
There is a train from Jodhpur to Marwar at 7:15 and 8:05 in the morning. On the return, there is a train to Jodhpur at 16:50 and 17:10 in the afternoon. The arrival time of the heritage train at Marwar Junction is 5:20. The train returning to Jodhpur leaves 10 minutes earlier. In such a situation, the tourists demand that if the railway board reduces the halt time at Kamli Ghat by 20-25 minutes, then the tourists of Jodhpur will be able to get a train to Jodhpur.
