Prayagraj: To make Mahakumbh 2025 a safe and green Mahakumbh, for the first time all terrain vehicles are being deployed in this fair. In case of fire incident anywhere in the fair area, this vehicle can reach the spot at a faster speed than ordinary vehicles. With its early arrival, the fire can be controlled quickly. It will be equipped with all the modern fire safety devices including fire extinguisher. Its biggest feature is that it can be run at full speed anywhere in sand, swamp and shallow water. Trained firefighters of the fire department will ride on this vehicle and keep an eye on emergency situations in the entire fair area.
Experiment will be done for the first time in Mahakumbh
This vehicle will be used for the first time in Mahakumbh. For this, four all-terrain vehicles have reached Prayagraj and fire fighters are being given training in riding and using them. This vehicle, which will be operated on electric battery, will realize the resolve of CM Yogi for a safe and green Mahakumbh.
All four vehicles reached Prayagraj from Germany
Extensive preparations have been made by Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services (UP Fire Services) to make the fair area a zero fire incident zone. The all-terrain vehicle is part of that preparation. Chief Fire Officer and Maha Kumbh Nodal Officer Pramod Sharma told Local18 that four all-terrain vehicles have been brought to Prayagraj from Germany. CM Yogi himself will flag off these vehicles costing about Rs 2.5 crore.
With the deployment of these vehicles, it will be ensured that after the commencement of the Maha Kumbh Mela, fire safety services can be operated smoothly even in the crowded areas of the area. He said that the vehicle is equipped with fire fighting equipment including water tanks, taps and pumps. With this, officials will be able to take immediate action in case of fire. If the fire is stopped from spreading in the beginning by showing speed, then it is easy to control the fire.
effective fire extinguishing ability
He said that along with the normal extinguisher, it also has an air compressor and Vampak fire extinguisher. In this, up to 9 liters of water can be sprayed from the gun. It contains 8 liters of water and one liter of chemical which turns into foam after spraying. Fluorine-free foam has effective fire extinguishing capabilities. It can extinguish the fire quickly. It can also suppress flammable liquid fires and prevent re-ignition, making it a reliable alternative to traditional foam.
Its discharge distance is up to 45 feet, thereby maintaining a safe distance between the system operator and the fire. It has a 75 feet hose that enables the user to reach a fire within 100 feet of the unit in any direction. This distance also provides protection to the operator and fireman from the heat and toxic gases of the fire. This vehicle is safer for firefighters and first responders. It is also biodegradable and Green Shield certified. Special training is being given to firefighters to use vehicles with fluorine-free foam.
Access will be easy in crowded areas
In most major fire incidents, personnel often face congested areas, which hinders fire extinguishing efforts. It is difficult to transport or operate fire engines in those areas. This wastes a lot of time. The nodal officer said, “We wanted a solution that would allow us to reach crowded areas quickly and start operations immediately. In Mahakumbh, when there will be huge crowd present in all the areas, then in emergency situations, these vehicles will be able to reach the spot in a few seconds. With the ability to move quickly to ensure quick response, these vehicles will be capable of extinguishing various types of fires.
Specialties and Features
This vehicle is capable of moving in sand, mud and rough terrain as well as in shallow water. When the vehicle gets stuck on sand, it works in boost mode due to which all four wheels start working. It gets charged in just 4 hours and works for 8 hours. It is 60 km. Can run at a speed of one hour.
