The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Hubble Space Telescope has shared a stunning video of a spiral galaxy called Caldwell 45 or NGC 5248. According to NASA’s Hubble, the spiral galaxy is located 59 million light-years away from Earth.
The Hubble Space Telescope, launched in 1990, fundamentally transformed our understanding of the universe, from determining the atmospheric composition of planets around other stars to the discovery of dark energy.
Coming back to the video shared by NASA Hubble, it states that NGC 5248 is home to starburst regions – places where stars form much faster than usual.
Describing the video shared, it said, “The bright blue spots seen in the spiral arms indicate the presence of young, hot stars.”
Many viewers expressed their admiration; one user said “Maravilhoso! (amazing in English)” while another described it as “beautiful.”
One user commented, “This is a great watch! Seeing new stars emerge is progress that’s not scary, but wonderful!”
Another user added, “At first glance, I was convinced I was looking at a closeup shot of a freshly baked sour dough crust, with the flour-smeared parts too. It’s amazing how many patterns and appearances are reflected in our universe, from the microscopic to the macroscopic.”
One user called it “dreamy”, while another called it “perfect”.
