Islamabad. Due to seasonal rains in Afghanistan, many areas have been submerged in floods. A Taliban spokesman said on Sunday that at least 33 people had died and 27 others had been injured in the last three days. Abdullah Janan Sack, Taliban spokesman for the Ministry of Natural Disaster Management, said that the sudden flood has affected the capital Kabul and many other provinces across the country.
SAC said that more than 600 houses were either partially or completely destroyed in the floods, while more than 200 animals have died. He further said that about 800 hectares of agricultural land and more than 85 kilometers (53 mi) of roads have been damaged by the floods.

Giving information, SAC said, ‘Western Farah, Herat, Southern Zabul and Kandahar provinces are submerged in flood water. These areas have suffered the most damage. The Meteorological Department has warned that more rain is expected in most of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan in the coming days.
In February this year, at least 25 people were killed in landslides following heavy snowfall in eastern Afghanistan, while in March, around 60 people were killed in heavy rains that lasted for three weeks.
“Afghanistan is experiencing major changes in extreme weather conditions,” the United Nations warned last year. Scientists say climate change is worsening weather patterns and after being devastated by four decades of war, Afghanistan is one of the least prepared countries to face this phenomenon.
