New Delhi. Strong demand for two-wheelers was seen in the Indian domestic market in September 2024. In this month, there has been an increase of 14.52% in sales on annual basis and 17.61% on monthly basis. Overall, 13,77,712 units were sold last month, which was more than 12,03,018 units sold in September 2023 and 11,71,424 units sold in August 2024.
Hero Splendor tops in sales
Leading the two-wheeler sales, Hero Splendor sold 3,75,886 units. This number represents an increase of 17.58% compared to 3,19,692 units sold in September 2023. With this performance, Splendor has also achieved a market share of 27.28%.
Honda Activa also performed well
Honda Activa scooter stood at second place, with 2,62,316 units sold. It registered a growth of 11.60% on annual basis and 15.33% on monthly basis. This is more than 2,35,056 and 2,27,458 units sold in September 2023 and August 2024.
This bike is on top in 125cc
In the 125cc segment, Honda Shine sold 1,81,835 units with an annual growth of 12.56%. Compared to September 2023, Shine sales were 20,219 units more. At the same time, Hero HF Deluxe sold the maximum 1,13,827 units with an annual increase of 35.32%.
New TVS Jupiter shows its power
TVS Jupiter also achieved market share of 7.47% by selling 1,02,934 units last month. Bajaj Pulsar also sold 1,39,182 units, which is a growth of 15.86% on year-on-year basis.
How was the moped segment?
In the moped segment, TVS XL sold 54,969 units, showing a YoY growth of 22.31%. However, sales declined with Suzuki Access registering 53,715 units, leading to a decline in its market share. Bajaj Platina also sold 49,774 units, registering a YoY growth of 2.38%.
TVS Raider sales in the top-10 list stood at 43,274 units, which declined by 11.24% on an annual basis, but showed a growth of 60.73% on a monthly basis.
