What was this whole matter?
According to a senior official associated with airport security, at around 2 am on the night of 5-6 April 2024, some officials of Air Canada Airlines reached the Immigration Bureau with a passport issued in the name Safar Salman Meladath Valappil. He told the immigration officials that at around 6:35 pm a passenger had reached the check-in counter to get a boarding pass for Montreal (Canada).
He told that when the check-in staff of Air Canada became suspicious about the documents of this passenger, they sent them to the ALO of the Canadian Embassy for verification. When no response was received from ALO even after a long wait, this passenger was off-loaded from the plane. After this, the airlines requested the Immigration Bureau to take the suspect into their custody.

Who was this suspicious passenger?
When immigration officials reached the spot along with Air Canada staff, he was missing from there. Despite searching at almost all possible places, nothing was found about this suspicious traveller. After which, with the help of CCTV footage, the search for the suspicious passenger was started. Investigation revealed that the suspected passenger had entered T-3 on a domestic ticket of Air India.
This Air India ticket was for flight AI-463 from Delhi to Chandigarh. This air ticket was issued in the name of Vijay Kumar Thangappa. This suspicious passenger crossed all the security procedures of the airport, reached the aerobridge area and left for Chandigarh by Air India flight.
