TVS has introduced CNG scooter TVS Jupiter CNG in India, which is equipped with by-fuel technology. This scooter gives a range of 226 km and runs 1 km for less than Rs 1.
New Delhi. The world’s first CNG bike was launched last year in India’s automobile market. Veteran bike manufacturer Bajaj had launched the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike in the market. Now the TVS has recently introduced the CNG scooter in India. TVS Jupiter CNG has entered the Indian market.
With this scooter, the company unveiled the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. By-fuel technology has been used in CNG TVS Jupiter. The trautor will come with dual fuel system with a 1.4kg compressed natural gas i.e. CNG tank with 2 liters of petrol tank. India’s automobile market is considered a price sensitive market, so this innovation of the company can prove to be a game changer in the market.
226 km range in full tank
According to the company, this scooter can cover a distance of 226 km in the full tank. This range is being told by mixing both petrol and CNG tanks. The company claims that this scooter can cover a distance of 1 km at a price of less than Rs 1. The scooter is an air-cooled, single-cylinder, powered from 124.8-cc engine that produces maximum power of 7.2hp and peak torque of 9.4Nm. It is only slightly less than petrol modes, which generates 8HP and 10.5Nm. The scooter has a CVT automatic gearbox.
How much will the price be?
Apart from this, this scooter has features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, a side stand indicator, an all-in-one lock, a USB charging port and an LED headlamp. It also has the largest seat in the 125cc segment. However, there is no storage under the seat, because the CNG tank has taken place. The launch of TVS Jupiter CNG in India is expected to be done later this year. Its price can be more than the petrol model, which comes between Rs 79,540 to Rs 90,721 (ex-showroom).
