Shefield University in the UK is now accepting the application for its MSc environmental change and international development courses, which begins in September 2025. This full -time course runs for a year and costs £ 27,670 (about 32 lakh rupees) for Indian students. To apply for this program, candidates will have to complete a bachelor’s degree of three or four years from a recognized university, with a minimum score of 60 percent.
The university accepts degrees in various fields including art and humanities, social science, medicine and public health. In addition, applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.5, at least 6.0 in each section or a equivalent qualification accepted by the university.
Sheffield University is also offering International Postgraduate Scholarship 2025 for international students from some sectors including India, who is enrolling in a taught master’s program starting in September 2025. This scholarship is £ 2,000 (about 2.3 lakh rupees) for students involved in courses under the Faculty of Arts and Humanity and Faculty.
No separate application is required for this scholarship; If applicants meet eligibility and selection criteria, the scholarship will automatically be applied as tuition fee discount. However, to receive this scholarship, the applicants must have accepted their admission motion on July 8, 2025 at 4 pm (UK Time).
This program allows students to customize their course based on their personal interests. The university offers a mixture of educational excellence, professional skill training, an alternative sector class and a research-based dissertation. Students can choose to conduct their dissertation through placement, research cooperation, or independent research.
An alternative international field class offers students the opportunity to work with foreign development and community organizations during the intensive week of activities. The university also offers a more affordable and durable UK-based hybrid field class as an alternative. The international field class may vary depending on the number of students participating, but the previous destinations include Peru, Nepal and South Africa.
It is important to note that the cost of alternative sector classes and placements is not covered by tuition fees. However, limited amounts of financial assistance is available to help in these expenses, which can be accessed through competitive selection process.
Additionally, students will work with six to eight weeks in June or a host organization in July. During this period, they will complete a research project assigned by the organization and approve by the university. The project will have practical significance, and research findings will form the basis of student dissertation. Some students may work directly on the main activities of the host organization during this period.
