When the attacker reached the metal detector for testing, he declared himself disabled and also showed a rod in his hand. Its photo has also surfaced. Despite this he was allowed inside the ministry. After this, when the minister started coming out of the mosque, he blew himself up in which four people including the minister were killed.

Islamic State Khorasan Province, an organization associated with the terrorist organization ISIS, has taken responsibility for this entire incident and has named the suicide bomber as Abu Usman Al Khurasani. Taliban intelligence agencies have also received a video in this regard in which the attacker is seen getting down from a government vehicle. At present, the Taliban administration has issued orders to the General Directorate of Intelligence to thoroughly investigate this video so that the real culprits can be reached.
