Television in India started as a small medium. People felt connected and learnt to bond with TV shows like ‘Hum Log’ and ‘Buniyaad’. That was the time when shows used to be made in less money than films. Shows like Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana and BR Chopra’s Mahabharata were also not mega budget shows in that era. But with the end of the century, just as a big change was seen in films, similarly the budget and scale of Indian television shows jumped. You must have seen many shows on TV. You must have liked the story of some and the star cast of some. There are many TV serials like ‘Shanti’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Chitrahaar’, ‘Shaktimaan’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kabhi Saheli Kabhi Sautan’, ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘Anupama’, ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’, ‘Kundali Bhagya’, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, which people still remember. But do you know which is the most expensive TV show?
