The government panel suggests two board exams for class 10 CBSE which starts from 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) approved the draft norms to conduct class -10 board examination twice a year from 2026 on Tuesday.

The news agency told PTI that the draft criteria will now be placed in a public domain and stakeholders can submit their response by 9 March.

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, February 25, CBSE Said that the government has issued National Education Policy, 2020 Which recommends that students will be given an opportunity to improve their performance in board examinations.

“Was held in a meeting Ministry of Education Under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Education Minister, in which the following was discussed: Two board examinations should be conducted in class 10th in 2025-2026. A draft policy should be developed for this. ,

“This draft policy is to be hosted CBSE website To get feedback from all stakeholders (schools, teachers, parents, students and other (general public etc.), read the notice.

What do draft criteria say?

According to the draft criteria, the first phase of the examination will be held from February 17 to March 6, while the second phase will be held from 5 to 20 May.

A senior board official told PTI, “Both examinations will be conducted on full syllabus and candidates will be allotted the same examination centers in two editions.”

The official said that the application fee will be increased and at the time of filing the application will be collected for both examinations.

“The first and second editions of the board exam will also act as complementary examinations, and no special examination will be conducted under any circumstances,” the official said.

The new National Education Policy (NEP) recommended that all students would be allowed to take the exam on two occasions during any school year to eliminate the “high bet” aspect of the board examination.
