New Delhi. To attract customers during festivals, transport companies give huge discounts on their vehicles. This is the reason why people prefer buying cars during the festive season. This year, a new record has been made in vehicle sales during the festive season. On one hand, companies earn from the sale of vehicles, on the other hand, the government also earns a lot in the form of taxes.
According to official figures, till October 30 i.e. before Diwali, more than 86 thousand new vehicles have been registered in the Delhi Transport Department.
Government earned so much from vehicles
During the festive season, 86 thousand new vehicles have been registered in the Delhi Transport Department, due to which the government has received a revenue of Rs 366 crore in the form of registration fees. On one hand, this time there has been a decline in the sales of scooters and bikes as compared to last year, on the other hand there has been an increase in the sales of four wheelers.
According to the data, the number of light motor vehicles (including cars and SUVs) sold till October 30 has been more than 22 thousand. At the same time, the remaining approximately 56 thousand vehicles are included in the two-wheeler category. According to officials, a total of 80 thousand 854 new vehicles were registered during the festive season in November last year, out of which more than 57 thousand were two wheelers and 18 thousand 635 were four wheelers.
