New Delhi. Tata Motors has become the first car in the country to be equipped with automatic gearbox in CNG variant. The company has recently revealed the introduction of Tigor iCNG and Tiago iCNG in automatic gearbox. Besides, the company has also started taking bookings for these models. Interested customers can book these cars at the official Tata Motors dealership or online with an amount of Rs 21,000.

The new Tiago iCNG AMT is available in three variants (XTA CNG, XZA+ CNG and XZA NRG), while the Tigor iCNG AMT can be purchased in two variants (XZA CNG and XZA+ CNG).
Equipped with twin cylinder technology
Let us tell you that all Tata CNG cars are equipped with twin cylinder technology. This technology is used to provide extra space in the car, under which two small cylinders are installed in the car instead of one big CNG cylinder. This gives a little more space in the boot. These cars are equipped with a single advanced ECU to switch from petrol to CNG mode. These can be started directly in CNG mode.
Advanced Safety Features
As a safety feature, a micro switch is also provided in these cars, which switches off the car while refueling. Apart from this, extra thermal protection is also available in the cylinder compartment. Advanced material has been used in the iCNG kit to prevent gas leaks. There is also a leakage detection feature, which immediately switches the car to petrol mode.
Engine and Specifications
Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT cars have 1.2 liter Revotron engine. Apart from this, Tata Motors has also introduced new color options for these models. Both iCNG cars get a mileage of 26 kilometers per kg. Tigor outs Tiago has been given safety ratings of 5 stars and 4 stars respectively in GNCAP crash test. According to the company, in the financial year 2024, a growth of 40.5 percent has been seen in the CNG market as compared to the previous financial year.
