Faridabad. This time in Surajkund International Fair in Faridabad, a glimpse of the traditional Gond art of Madhya Pradesh is being seen. This art is centuries old and uses it to show its stories festivals and beliefs related to nature. For the first time, Pradeep Maravi has reached the Surajkund fair with this art and has set up a stall of paintings made.
Gond painting has been making for 25 years
Pradeep Maravi is originally from Madhya Pradesh and has been making Gond Art for the last 25 years. They say that this tradition is very old. Earlier our ancestors used to make this picture with natural colors on the walls. Now we also make it on canvas, wood, saree, dupatta and paper. There is a story behind every painting. Sometimes it is associated with tribal festivals and sometimes it reflects some element of nature.
The entire family of Pradeep Marawi is associated with this art. They make paintings at home and set up their stalls whenever there is a big fair or exhibition. He told that to make Gond Art, first one has to think of the concept of the story, then it is engraved through colors and designs. Earlier these pictures were made from natural colors but now the colors purchased from the market are used.
Honored in 2014
Pradeep Marawi was honored for his painting at the Kalidas exhibition in 2014. He says that he has studied only till tenth but his art has given him an identity. They participate in various fairs and exhibitions across the country and bring their art to the people.

Gond paintings of Pradeep Marawi are attracting people a lot in Surajkund fair. Many people who came to the fair are also buying these paintings and are showing interest in knowing about Gond art.
