Hindustan Times completed 100 years as the voice of the nation in 2025. To celebrate this special milestone, HT organized a 100-day competition to capture the essence of the nation. This gave the contestants a chance to capture and share India’s own vision through the lens. In my country, a category provided to the contestants in my lens competition was the boundaries of my country, where participants were asked to capture India’s borders where culture and heritage convergence. Take a look at some breathtaking clicks recorded in the competition:
Sharda River: Border of Nature
The river Sharda, also known as Kali Ganga or Mahakali, originates in the great Himalayas. It flows into the south-south-west, which creates a natural border between India and Nepal. This contestant captioned this beautiful click correctly as ‘Border in Nations of Nature’
Spanggur gap
The line demarcation of the actual control (LAC) is the effective range, which separates the Indian controlled sector from the Chinese-controlled area. The Spanggur Gap, which is between Gurung Hill and but but the hill, has a mountain near Lakh. It is located in the Ladakh region of India and the Tibet region of China
Full village
This picture was clicked in a remote village called Tyakshi, which is close to the India-Pakistan border. Located in the Nubara Valley, it is the second-final Indian village on the northern border
