57 satellites will reflect sunlight

Novak said that his company’s goal is to sell sunlight in the dark of night, so that people’s homes will get ample electricity even at night. There is a plan to launch 57 small satellites. Each of these satellites is equipped with a 33 square foot ultra reflective Mylar mirror. These mirrors have been designed to reflect sunlight back to solar farms on Earth.

These satellites will orbit at an altitude of about 600 kilometers above the Earth’s surface.
