IGI Airport: This matter is of Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi. The hand bags of air passengers were being scanned at the pre-embarkation security check point of Terminal 3. Meanwhile, CISF Screener Sub Inspector Rajneesh Chaudhary’s eyes fall on a bag. Two suspicious devices were also visible inside the image of this bag, which appeared to be on an X-ray screen.
Sub Inspector Rajneesh immediately separated this bag for physical check and then started the search for the passenger to whom this bag belonged. The bag was searched in the presence of the passenger. During the search, two devices were found inside the bag. Investigation revealed that the recovered device was a GPS device. According to the manual of Bureau of Civil Aviation Securities (BCAS), carrying GPS devices in flights is prohibited.
Passenger did not have answers to questions
Therefore, this passenger was taken into custody and interrogated regarding this GPS device. During interrogation, the passenger could not give satisfactory answers, due to which the CISF handed over the passenger to IGI Airport. The airport police has registered an FIR against this passenger under Section 42 (2) (D) of the Telecommunication Act and arrested him.

The arrested passenger has been identified as Arvind Takkalpalli. He had reached IGI Airport to go to Guwahati by India Airlines Express flight IX-1067. The police is now trying to find out from where he got this GPS device and with what intention he was carrying this GPS device in the flight.
