The Ministry of Education is accepting applications for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship 2025. Candidates who are interested in applying for the scholarship can submit their application on the official website of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) at cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk. Candidates must also apply through the SAKSHAT portal of the Ministry of Education.
One must note here that the application window will close on October 15, 2024.
It is noteworthy that CSC will only fund one-year master’s degree programme and will not include MBA degree.

About Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates wishing to apply for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarships must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- The Commonwealth Master Scholarship is only for candidates who are citizens of India and permanent residents of the country.
- Additionally, candidates must be available to begin academic studies in the UK by September/October 2025.
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in their graduation degree by September 2025.
- The candidate must be unable to study in the UK without the scholarship.
- Applicants must provide all the supporting documents in the required format.
- Applicant must have received an admission offer from a UK university Listed Applications must be made by 31 October 2024 on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website.

Selection Process:
According to the CSC, applications will be considered based on the following selection criteria:
- Educational Qualification
- Quality of the research proposal
- Potential impact on the development of the candidate’s home country.
Benefits provided by the scholarship:
- Airfare: from home country to the UK and return at the end of the award. However, CSC will not reimburse the cost of airfare for dependents or the cost of travel undertaken before the award has been confirmed.
- Tuition Fees: The full cost will be covered as per the agreement between CSC and the UK University. The candidate will not be liable to pay any part of the tuition fees.
- Stipend: A living allowance will be provided at the rate of £1,378 per month, or £1,690 per month for students studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at the current level).
- Warm clothing allowance will be provided where applicable.
- Study travel grants will be provided to cover the costs of study-related travel in the UK or abroad.
- If a candidate has children and is a widow, divorcee or a single parent, he or she will be entitled to a child allowance of £590 per month for the first child and £146 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, provided the children are living with him or her at the same address in the UK.
- If candidates claim disability, a full assessment of their needs and eligibility for additional financial assistance will be done by CSC.
The CSC website states, “Applicants can expect to hear the outcome of their applications by July 2025. We will contact all applicants by email and they should ensure that all folders in their email accounts are monitored, including junk mail and spam folders. If a candidate is emailed but does not respond within the specified time, the scholarship offer may be withdrawn.”
