Due to the narrow and complex structure of the cave, it was almost impossible for the British to catch the bandits here. This was the reason that this cave was named Robers Kev by the British rule. During the 1800s, this place used to be a hideout of the bandits.

The length of this cave is about 600 meters and is divided into two parts. A narrow river flows inside the cave, in which water is usually up to the knees. The experience of walking in this cold water during the summer season pulls people here again and again. Robers Kev is located about 8 km from the city of Dehradun. You can easily reach here by car, scooty, cab or local auto. The last stop of the cave is Anarwala village, from where you have to walk a little distance and reach the cave. The greenery and the beauty of the mountains will fascinate you all the way. The nearest airport is Jollygrant Airport, Dehradun. From here you can take a taxi directly to Robers Kev. If you are reaching here by train, then this cave is only 6 kilometers from Dehradun railway station. Taxi or auto can be easily reached from the station. Dehradun is connected by road to many cities of India. You can come here by private vehicle or by bus via NH7.
