Virat Kohli still has a lot of travelling to do. After winning the T20 World Cup trophy in Barbados last week, he could not return to India immediately due to the storm. He reached Delhi on Thursday and then headed to Mumbai for a grand ceremony. But Virat has one more place to travel to before he feels at home. Virat left for London
On Thursday night, a paparazzo account on Instagram shared a video of Virat at the Mumbai airport, in which he is seen getting out of a black SUV wearing a white T-shirt, cream pants and an olive green jacket. He greeted the airport staff before entering the building. Reports claim that he is heading to London, where he will be reunited with his actress-wife Anushka Sharma and their children Vamika and Akay.
Anushka was not in the US or Barbados to cheer Virat from the stands, as she is busy being a new mother. Anushka and Virat became parents to son Akay in February this year. After the Indian cricket team got stuck due to the storm, a video surfaced on social media in which Virat was showing Anushka the storm on a video call.
Virat’s journey so far
The team, support staff, their families and the media were stranded in Barbados, which was hit by Hurricane Beryl, a category four storm that passed through Barbados at the time. The storm forced the Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown to close for three days.
Virat and his son finally reached Delhi on Thursday, where they met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Virat also met his family members in Delhi. Virat’s sister Bhavana Kohli shared pictures on her official Instagram account, in which the legendary Indian batsman is seen celebrating the victory with his niece. Bhavana wrote on Instagram, “Celebrating the victory with a lot of pride.” Anushka also liked the pictures.
The team then left for Mumbai the same day, where they travelled in an open-top bus on Marine Drive and headed towards the iconic Wankhede Stadium, where fans thronged to cheer on the Indian team.
Meanwhile, Anushka will next be seen in the film Chakda Express.
