New Delhi. The love story of Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Zaheer Iqbal has completed eight years now. One year has passed since their marriage. Sonakshi Sinha has openly admitted for the first time that her and Zaheer Iqbal’s relationship has not always been as easy as it appears on social media. He faced many ups and downs in this path. But both had to face challenges.

During a conversation in Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Sonakshi Sinha told that after the first three years of her relationship with Zaheer Iqbal, the tension between the two had increased so much that she had to take the help of couples therapy.

Sonakshi-Zaheer were ready to pull each other’s hair

Describing the moment as ‘three-year itch’, Sonakshi said, ‘There came a time when we wanted to pull each other’s hair. No matter what we did, we were not able to understand each other’s point of view. However, it was deeply seated in the minds of both of them that they had to save this relationship. She told that Zaheer suggested therapy and she agreed to it.

According to Sonakshi, ‘We were back on track after just two sessions. It helped a lot to understand what the other person was thinking and what he said often did not mean what it seemed.

Sonakshi fell in love as soon as she saw Zaheer

They also shared stories from the beginning of their relationship. Sonakshi told that she met Zaheer after meeting him at a party of Salman Khan, which first turned into friendship and then love. She had told Zaheer ‘I love you’ just a week after meeting him, on which Zaheer laughed at her, considering her crazy. Sonakshi also told in another interview that she believes in ‘Nazar’, hence she kept the relationship a secret till marriage.

After dating for seven years, the couple got married in a simple civil ceremony under the Special Marriage Act at their home in Mumbai on June 23, 2024. After this he threw a grand reception party at Bastion Restaurant in the presence of many Bollywood stars. Due to it being an interfaith marriage, they initially faced some trolls and criticism. But Sonakshi believes that love outweighs everything. She said that I have always believed that love always wins… I was marrying the person I love. Both are very happy after marriage. Sonakshi has revealed that she lives with Zaheer and his parents and has a very good relationship with her in-laws.
