before the much awaited Solo Leveling Season 2 Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are bringing the much-loved anime franchise to the big screen this year, set to premiere in 2025.
The fresh announcement, promising a next-level fan experience in theaters, comes a week after the virtual event Aniplex Online Fest 2024. A new key visual for the second installment of the anime series was unveiled on Sept. 15 (PT).
The first season of the anime adaptation of Chugong’s best-selling Korean web novel is already streaming on Crunchyroll, a streaming platform that offers the world’s most extensive anime library, with the upcoming anime film arriving in theaters in the United States and Canada on December 6, 2024.

What to expect from the new Solo Leveling movie?
The title of the compilation film is Solo Leveling – Reawakening– Will bridge the gap between the events of the first season and the upcoming sequel. Also offer an exclusive recap Single Leveling Season 1The theatrical premiere will include an advance screening of the first two episodes of the second season. Ahead of its international cinematic release, the omnibus film will debut in Japanese theaters on November 29 – a major update revealed at Virtual Anime Fest last week.
Crunchyroll described the upcoming compilation film as follows: “Solo Leveling – Reawakening– It features a recap of the first season, as well as an exclusive sneak peek at the first two episodes of the highly-anticipated second season, a must-have theatrical fan experience.
“More than a decade has passed since a passage called a “Gate” suddenly appeared that connects this world and another dimension, and people with supernatural powers called “Hunters” have awakened. Hunters use their supernatural powers to conquer the dungeons inside the Gate to make a living, and the lowest-ranked hunter Sung Jinwoo is considered the weakest hunter of all humans. One day, he encounters a double dungeon, a high-level dungeon hidden inside a low-level dungeon. In front of a seriously injured Jinwoo, a mysterious quest window opens. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to take the quest, which makes him the only person who can level up.”

In other news, Solo Leveling Season 2 will be released in January 2025. Shunsuke Nakashige will resume his position in the director’s seat and A-1 Pictures will once again back the project.
Chugong’s Solo Leveling series has also inspired webtoon and video game adaptations. In April, a spinoff webtoon, “Solo Leveling: Ragnarok,” was released. In addition, a live-action South Korean drama based on the web novel is reportedly in the works.
