Skoda Kailak deliveries begin today across India

The Skoda Kylaq is the Czech manufacturer’s third passenger vehicle under its India 2.0 strategy after the Kushaq and Slavia. The Skoda Kushaq and Slavia have helped the company capture nearly 30 percent of the Indian passenger vehicle market. With the launch of Kylaq, the carmaker intends to further expand its reach and strengthen its foothold in this segment. While the Kushaq and Skoda Slavia helped the brand establish its presence in tier-1 cities, the Kylak will give the brand a bigger opportunity to enter the markets of tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Skoda Kailak: Key Features

The Skoda Kylak SUV is loaded with many features. Availability of features depends on the variant. The top-end trim of the Skoda Kylak SUV comes equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other features include automatic climate control, digital driver display, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charger, TPMS, sunroof and six airbags as standard.

Skoda Kailak: Powertrain

Powering the Skoda Kylaq SUV is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The same engine powers the Kushaq SUV and the Slavia sedan. The turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 114 bhp of maximum power and 178 Nm of maximum torque. For transmission duties, the SUV gets a six-speed manual gearbox, while there is a torque converter automatic unit also on offer.
