Reactions are pouring in on the trailer of Singham Again and the references to Ramayana in it have taken the internet by storm. While some believe that Rohit Shetty told a better version of Ramayana than Om Raut in under five minutes, others believe that Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan did a better job. Mention of Ramayana in Singham again
Rohit drew parallels between his lead actors and Ramayana in the trailer. While Ajay Devgan’s Bajirao Singham and Kareena Kapoor’s Avni Kamat represent Ram and Sita, Tiger Shroff’s Satya represents Lakshman, Ranveer Singh’s Simmba is Hanuman, Akshay Kumar’s Suryavanshi is Jayatu, and Arjun Kapoor’s Danger Lanka. It is Ravana.
“Rohit Shetty shows #Ramayan better than Om Raut in this 5-minute trailer!”. a person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote while posting screenshots of Ramayan scenes from the trailer. Another thought, “Rohit Shetty could have made a better Adipurush than Om Raut.” One user said, “Rohit Shetty’s Vision of Ramayana >>> Om Raut’s complete Adipurush Movie.”
Another decoded that Deepika Padukone plays Ahalya as it was not made clear in the trailer, writing, “Deepika Padukone as Ahalya (crying emoji).”
One person thought the trailer set up an epic confrontation between Ajay and Arjun, writing, “#SinghamAgainTrailer This is an epic showdown worthy of a modern Ramayan! Just like Ram fought Ravana, our #Singham is here to vanquish evil with pure power and determination! This is not just a trailer, let’s rally behind our fearless lion!”
Not everyone is affected
However, not everyone was impressed with the Ramayana references and the trailer in general. Sharing a poster of Mani’s Vikram, Aishwarya Rai-starrer Raavanan, one person wrote, “If want to watch a cop movie which is a loose modern adaptation of Ramayana then don’t watch Singham again. Instead just sit at your home and watch Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan.”
Another posted a GIF of a man crying, writing, “Man I had high expectations from Singham again. But going by the trailer, it’s a poor acting, mediocre VFX and unnecessary Ramayana reference film, where 50 kg Deepika is beating people weighing 90-100 kg like peanuts. So much disappointment from one trailer. #SinghamAgainTrailer.”
However, Deepika fans were thrilled to see their favorite star as Lady Singham, with a fan writing, “The center of attraction is the female lead of #SinghamAgain, she is so good in just the 5 minute trailer, she is the queen of the movie.” Can’t wait for #DeepikaPadukone,” and sharing screengrabs from the trailer.
Some also thought that Arjun played the antagonist well, with one calling it his ‘redemption arc’ and writing, “Arjun Kapoor surprised me the most. Despite all the memes made about him before, At least that’s what stood out to me in the trailer. Loading #SinghamAgain?
About Singham Again
The trailer of Singham Again was released on Monday and hinted that Bajirao will have to save his wife Avni when Lanka kidnaps her. This film starring these actors is going to be released on Diwali on 1st November.
