In an interview, Shalini Pasi reveals her natural hair care secrets. She uses homemade shampoo made from reetha and amla, which ensures that her hair remains healthy.
Be it her health choices, food preferences, focus on mental health or her infamous bags, Shalini Pasi has mesmerized the internet. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the 48-year-old, who recently made her web series debut with Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, talked about her haircare routine. In the clip, Shalini revealed that she does not color her hair and uses natural shampoo.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Shalini revealed that her black hair is completely natural and has never been coloured. The 48-year-old also avoids heat styling her hair as she wants it to ‘stay that way for 100 years.’ She further said, “I don’t color my hair. I have had two gray hairs – one because of the pandemic and one because of my son entering college. This is my natural hair color. I use reetha and amla to wash it. You first soak it in water for 24 hours or more and then grind it. It is like a natural shampoo. So, I use that. Just sometimes, when I am travelling, I use regular shampoo. I also use coconut oil.”
The Fabulous Lives star also revealed the products she strictly avoids to maintain her hair. “I avoid anything with silicone in it. I don’t use shampoos or hair products that contain silicone. I don’t straighten my hair permanently, but sometimes I straighten it with an iron. He [Shalini’s hairstylist] Nothing is allowed to be sprayed on my head. I have also donated my hair [and] Got it shaved four times in Tirupati. So, I don’t style or color my hair,” she said.
‘I’m not a minimalist’
In the interview, while getting her makeup done, Shalini declared that she has found her signature style, and she likes to keep it that way. The 48-year-old is often seen with her hair tied in a high ponytail at various events. According to her, this ensures that minimum products are used in her hair. She told, ‘We got a cheat code where I at least blow dry. Then, we tie it into a ponytail, clean the front, and then we apply the clip. So even though everyone asks me to change my hairstyle, I always refuse and now it has become my signature hairstyle.
