Rakesh Roshan’s 1995 film Karan Arjun starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan has emerged as one of the most iconic films of Bollywood. Now, Rakesh has revealed that he had difficulty working with the actors in the film. Shahrukh also admitted that he along with Salman troubled Rakesh a lot. In a clip from the documentary The Roshans, Rakesh talked about the challenges he faced while working on the 1995 film Karan Arjun, in which Shah Rukh also joined in and shared his experience. The clip was posted by Netflix on Instagram.
In the clip, Rakesh said, “His interest in the film started decreasing.” When a shot is ready, even if the sun is setting, they don’t come when we call them. They came at the last moment and we had to do the shots quickly.” Actor Shatrughan Sinha also revealed, “They (Shah Rukh and Salman) harassed him (Rakesh). They made fun of him or wouldn’t cooperate with him.”
Shahrukh also appeared in the documentary. He recalled making the iconic film Karan Arjun with Salman Khan and talked about his bad behaviour.
Shahrukh said, “Yes, we (Shah Rukh and Salman) troubled them a lot because we both were very mischievous, rowdy.” At one point in the video, Shah Rukh recalled how Rakesh’s wife Pinky Roshan scolded him several times. Was. He said, ‘Pinky ji scolded me a lot, ‘You are troubling Guddu (Rakesh) so much, I did not expect this from you.’ Because, there was a little better behavior between Salman and I, at least at first glance I felt like, ‘All this is his (Salman) doing.’ “We were like two little kids, to be honest, harassing a father figure.”
Apart from this, Rakesh also shared that whenever he proposed something, Shahrukh and Salman used to give other suggestions. He added, “And I would tell them, ‘No, this is what I want.’ And they will get angry.”
“One time he said to me, ‘I am angry, you are a bitch’. Till today I have not spoken like this in films. I said, ‘Rakesh ji is not saying anything to me. I shouted, ‘Date hoon’. (Once, he asked me to shout while abusing onscreen. I told him that I would not be able to abuse because I had never done that on camera. So, I shouted),” Shah Rukh said.
