‘I wasn’t overweight; ‘I broke the scales’
When Sara was asked about a time when she was overweight and whether she always believed she would lose weight, Sara said, “I was never overweight; I tipped the scales… there are times when you can go downhill. So, when you wake up in the morning and you weigh 85kg and nothing really fits, you’re between 85 and 96 – what difference does it really make? This is the worst way to be, and that’s what started happening to me. I was in college, and I was already fat, so now what’s the point of fat – fat is fat, so just let me eat that brownie.
As Ranveer confessed that he too was obese as a child and the ‘fat kid’ inside him is still present, Sara agreed and said, “It never goes away. That thick complex stays in the brain forever.
‘I have to be really careful about what I eat’
Sara revealed that even though she has lost a lot of weight since then, she still has a problem with her weight. He said that he had recently become overweight and was also asked to lose weight. “My things got thicker, my face got bigger, that’s really what happens. I have to be really careful about what I eat. It’s very important for me to stay on track with my weight,” she said.
What inspired Sara to lose weight?
When Sara was asked why she lost more than 45 kg in weight (the actor used to be 96 kg), Sara had only one answer – Karan Johar. The director wanted to offer him a film and asked him to lose ‘half’ his weight.
When asked what motivated her to lose weight and get moving, Sara said, “I was too big, man. This was not healthy at any level. It was having hormonal effects on me, which it still does. Every time I overeat or when I am touching the 60 kg mark, you can start seeing that I am not well.
“You should definitely keep an eye on what you are eating as it not only affects your visual appearance; It affects your hormonal balance, and that’s extremely important,” she said. She further added that overweight people need to hear this because when you’re eating unhealthy foods, it doesn’t just affect your look; It also affects your mental health and hormones.
